Telephone Line and Wire Troubleshooting - Is it Inside Wiring?
We had trouble with intermittent static on our phone line and the line going dead. So what did we do? We did the same thing that many other people do - We called the phone company. Their automated system took answers to a few questions then told us someone would be out to correct the problem by .... The recording also said, if the problem was determined to be inside wiring, we would be charged $85 for troubleshooting. Well the phone company did send someone out who reported the problem as being inside wiring. After continuing to live with the problem while we tried to isolate it by disconnecting phones, faxes, etc...we had gotten no where. Finally I was given the advice I am going to give you.
